Its early days for entries but the first ladies and second mens entries have arrived. Many of our local lifters who hope to be competing in the WORLDS POWER in Glasgow in November are going to focus on single lifts at the All England ,using this competition as part of their preparation for the World Powerlifting Championships.
The warm up area will now have three  specialist Squat/Bench Combinations with "bench safetys" similar to the kit on the main platform. To create even more space in the warm up room a special area behind the M.C.s tables will now be used for the lifters report area when their competition is taking place.
If we get more than 40 entries we will consider using Saturday for willing local new lifters to compete.
End of year membership will be available from October 1st .Forms available from the BDFPA web site /membership.
Drug testing will take place at this competition. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you require further information.

Hi Glen,
Closing date is the 17th October. Both single lifts and full power--equipped and unequipped .With the WDFPF World Powerlifting Championships taking place in Glasgow just two weelks after the All England we anticipated fewer entries than last year but the uptake has been quite strong so far and our expected 40 powerlifting places are filling up fast. Please get your entries in as soon as possible to guarantee a place. The competition is open(no qualifying performance needed)to all BDFPA members.End of year membership available for 10.Entry form and Poster are available on the BDFPA web site under Events-All England.
Hope you will enter Glen.It would be good to see you lift.
                                                              Regards,

Alistair Cannings our club web master will post the entries received so far on www.bournemouthbarbell.co.uk this weekend.
36 power or bench received.Mostly unequipped. With a good bench only entry so far (requiring less time than power)we will be able to go to 50 entries, so with 3 weeks until entries close (closing date 17th Oct.) do not miss the deadline and end up disappointed.Call me if in any doubt or requiring further information.

Im so tempted to do this
i lifted at the Combined service this week and was going to go for a 4th squat to go for the Mil/Police/Fire brit squat record to be told it wouldnt count as it wasnt a national level comp i find this strange that you can lift more than a record at a qualifier but the record wont stand

so might do this to get the record

Title: Re: BDFPA ALL ENGLAND POWER AND SINGLE LIFTS CHAMPS. 2011
Post by: Glen Danbury on September 25, 2011, 09:44:17 PM
John i thought this was still classed as a regional qualifier but does not have to be done in your region (i.e where i lift now i have to do the east midlands)?

Title: Re: BDFPA ALL ENGLAND POWER AND SINGLE LIFTS CHAMPS. 2011
Post by: strange1 on September 26, 2011, 01:15:47 PM
the way i understand it if you make the qualifing lifts at the all englands you have to lift at your regional qualifier but dont need to make the qualifing lifts there.call me cynical seems like a bit of a money spiner to me i cant see any other reason for it.

on the bdfa site the all englands 2010 results are under natitional and international so the record should stand

Title: Re: BDFPA ALL ENGLAND POWER AND SINGLE LIFTS CHAMPS. 2011

I have been advised previously that the All England(open entry) allows successful lifters to claim British Records if calibrated discs and bars are used on a  legal competition platform and certificated scales are used at the weigh in ---and the competition is drug tested(may also count if it is registered for drug testing ?).Plus -three referees  officiating with the centre ref. being at least a National (status)referee. Results sheets signed by all three or more referees  officiating at the event have to be sent to the records registrar.
Divisional qualifiers/championships (open entry)which meet the above requirements enable lifters to claim British Records also, if they are successful.
World records may only be set at British Championships(qualification required) or higher in this country. The same conditions as above must apply and 10% of lifters taking part must be drug tested at the event.
All of us (Bournemouth barbell) make absolutely no financial or otherwise gain for anyone. We are a amateur community sports club and any surplus or loss is budgetted and listed in our audited accounts and surplus money is used to buy equipment or promote Weightlifting/Powerlifting/S&C in the the community. Our club also stands the loss if the event operates at a loss.Sometimes they do.
Certainly ensuring lifters are tested or available for testing at Divisional qualifiers does provide some safeguard that lifters do not abuse our drug free ethos.
Although we enjoy putting on competitions we do not enjoy the pressure, risk and work involved. We will continue if enough people show us by entering that they want us to put them on.The numbers getting involved do just that ,but we want to get even more people involved in drug free sport and will endeavour to promote more and more comps. if the numbers merit it .
All at B.B. totally accept that if lifters can find a better deal then they should go for it.
The West Midlands are running a Divisional qualifier one week after the All England and may offer some a better opportunity.Pat runs a great event and is highly recommended. We have found events at Sunbury particularly good and enjoyable and encourage the organisers to keep on promoting competitions. They are essential to our organisation.
Our biggest problem is often we have too many lifters to give an easy day of lifting for organisers ,officials and spotters. The fun outways any drudgery ,however.
More entries through the post today.Looking forward to the lifting by all those that want to take part.
                                                             Regards to all,
                                                                    Paul

Just indicates that l am not sure which one lifters want to do, or in some cases they have delayed making a final decision on whether to lift equipped or unequipped until they weigh in.Hope that helps.

Entries still coming in for both the Weightlifting and Powerlifting events.Although we do not have a ladies 15kg weightlifting bar
at the moment we do have  three 20kg  Eleiko bars in the warm up room and  one on the main  competition platform.Eleiko and Pallini competition bumpers will be used on the competition platform.Uncalibrated bumpers will be used on the three warm up platforms.
Powerlifting may start earlier  on Sunday for certain local lifters to ensure we pace the day positively for everyone.Numbers are higher than expected considering the close proximity of the Worlds.(Entries for Glasgow are now very good indeed as well.)
We will post a final entry list on our web site www.bournemouthbarbell.co.uk early next week.

awesome day, thank you Paul for such a great day. very long and felt battered and tired by the end of it but had to say this was one of the most enjoyable competition experiences i have had due to how friendly and supportive everyone involved in running it, competing in it and even the spectators.

ended up going down by myself due to training partners and family not being able to make it but it was a fantatstic day - definately doing it again and having qualified for the singles and full power british will be having a crack at that  next year as well.

great day once again and can only say thank you  ;D

Roll on British singles and full power finals next year

560kg total (200kg, 135kg, 225kg and more in the tank for squats and deads but was conservative)

hope for a 575kg total minimum next year

cheers - was too conservative on final lifts though - by next april want to hit 210kg squat, 140kg bench and 235kg deadlift.

feel absolutely busted today though - back and thighs are shot to pieces!!!!!!

Good lifting, I think your projected lifts are far too conservative again (with the exception of maybe the bench).

Judging by the video of the squat and previous DL videos I think you could push past those by April, IMO  ;D

quite possibly mate - end goal i want a 600kg total (220kg squat, 140kg bench and 240kg dead) but will be satisifed with the 585kg i have set as a target. but vids on this site - squats are high and deads use straps so different in that sense. the 135kg bench was a grind must have taken what felt ages to slowly grind it up - actually tweaked my back arching so hard

need to keep working on my strength off the chest, initial pull in the deadlift and coming out of the hole in the squat - all basically for me i think means more starting speed so lots of band work, dead stop stuff etc

Nice lifts, mate  :) . How does that put you in terms of British contention? I would have thought your total/projected total must be right up there?

i the u82.5kg class at this years british would have put me around fourth i think if hitting a 585kg total, 660kg total needed to win lol

if I could maintain current strength and get to u75kg my total of 560kg would put me in contention for around second place I think but to be 75kg I would need to be ripped as thats what I was roughly standing on the bnbf stage last year lol

660kg @ 82.5kg  :o ! Damn!

Fourth is still impressive; particularly as I guess, based on competitive experience, you'd consider yourself more a bodybuilder than a powerlifter. Winning qualifiers, placing well at the British in a 'second' sport, isn't to be knocked!

I suppose if you're going for <75kg, you may as well do a bodybuilding comp, too!

no chance - 82kg class for me, have abs at this weight, feel good - just need to get f***ing stronger lol

to be honest winning isnt why i would do the powerlifting, wouldnt care where i palced yesterday to be honest its all about the PBs for me, unless its setting records what other people do is irrelevant to how i view it. 660kg would be good though as it would be a raw eight times bodyweight total!!!!! if i hit the 585kg thats a seven times bodyweight which would be good for where I am at presently

Well done Glen .Your lifting was excellent.Something left in the tank as well .Macca the current BDFPA 82.5kg number one is a great squatter and tidy at the other lifts as well but no one is their for ever.Rob Palmer and Tom Martin in the GBPF are worth 700 plus right now unequipped.Rob totalled 660kg years ago at the same venue in Bournemouth. You have the potential to close them down but l realise your focus is broad with bodybuilding your first sport.
Loved the action over the weekend with 100 plus competing over the two days.On Saturday the best weightlifter did 140/183 /323 kg total at 94kg bodyweight. The 110kg class British Bench Press (unequipped) record of 220kg was a sight to behold on Sunday.Selected  lifters and those randomly pulled were drug tested(male and female).
So a 400lb plus Clean and Jerk plus a 220 raw Bench Press were truly the icing on the cake.Big thankyou to ALL the lifters and members of Bournemouth Barbell and BDFPA for  "cheerfully" working so hard throughout the weekend.
                                                     Regards to all,
                                                         Paul

Paul was a cracking day and loved every minute of it - pretty much by the time the bar hit the ground on my last deadlift I had made up my mind that for the next few years i am going to focus purely on the powerlifting.

want to total more than 600kg within the next two years and see how it goes from there but enjoyed the much more relaxed approach into this comp than bodybuilding and much better suites my current circumstances. was phenomenol some of the lifting by the bigger guys later on and watching every one throughout the day was realising that there was alot of technique issues I need to clean up in my own lifting to help push me on.

might even try and find someone local to have some coaching on the fast lifts as well - either travel down to crystal palace or see whats up my way in the lea valley area

thanks for a great day once again really did enjoy it but next time try and tell me before I go to the toilet that i need to do the drug testing not after ha ha.
