hi folk...
my bb journey started in 2011...the day I came out of hospital after having major surgery for an adrenal tumour ...I had been seriously ill for over 5 years...getting out of breath and not being able to exert myself very much at all..my weight was 11stone 9lb  and very little in the way of muscle prior to my surgery..it fell to just 11stone 1lb a week after my discharge..
I vowed then to make up for the lost years of inactivity...

so began to run and workout..eating lots..not really to any plan....but
I put weight on..hitting 12stone 3lb.. lifting heavy and running some park run races...from there I eventually won my first 5k listed race..and began running 10ks and culiminating running a half marathon this year.......next year im doing the brighton full marathon...

anyway..im striving to get a muscled lean look...which I feel is coming along nicely..
im bulking still..and adding muscle slowly...
I will cut calories for awhile before I hit the long runs for the marathon training...il will be adding in the calories again then


im 52..and hopefully by the time im 54 il will have achieved my goals

Monday 25 aug

hi ..today was a real non starter on the bb front..i had pulled a right bicep muscle..resulting in a painful and soft ?? bicep..so all I managed to do was a 5k run in pouring rain as the gym was closed today (being a bank holiday day).. eating my calories and just chilling out

is it a case that my bicep will get its firmness bank once it heals?

back to the gym today...........briefly...!!

as I have not been to the gym for 4 days due to my sore bicep...I thought I would just have a light easy session ...machine flys...light incline bench press I mean light just 30ks on the bar....ooh on my second set I felt the pain   emerge in my bicep..so I stopped..

not good...but I suppose it needs time to heal....how long should  it take..?

so I reverted to running machine cardio..and the bike...!!

hitting 160 grams of protein  at the moment....mainly from lean meat sources..

my arm is really painful today..should have just stuck to jst cardio yesterday..!

today im havng a bit of a cheat day.......working nights and not sleeping days has left me this week somewhat deflated

sucked it up today....two scoops of the new superpump 3.0..and hit a new pb flat bench press of 45kg for 6 reps  wow

thanks its appreciated.....arm better today..ran the hot shower on it for an hour last night..some light massage..and slept with a compression bandage on it...

had 2 whole eggs with chedder for breakfast today...will eat nothing until I return from the gym at 2.45..then in with the body fortress protein and a couple of baked potatoes..

I will work shoulder and back today...my pb deadlift is 120kg..but will on rep out on max 100k..

arm was good today.so started off with deadlifts...
warm up 20kgs
5 sets of 10 reps.....70kg
5 sets of 8 reps .....100kg
10 sets of 5 reps.....60kg to finish...

then cable  rows 90kgs to failure

 shoulders...
lat pull downs..
then 20k millatary presses for 3 sets of 5 reps..
followed by machine shoulder presses
body weight press ups 5 sets to failure

then onto the bent over row machine..
10 sets of 5 reps 60kgs

to finish some dumbbell work,and 20 minutes on the punch bag

back home   for 40gr of protein shake and 2 baked spuds with cheese and eggs on top

steak will be my main meal for later

 I shall be doing free weights at home today...!!

dumbbell bench press
shoulder presses
bent over rows
isolation bicep work
and ab and calf work..

looking to take in 170grams of protein now...as im hitting 168 lbs in weight

my cut will start tomorrow

back to the gym today...!!

my arm felt ok today..but even after hitting the weights my right bicep..is stll lacking firmness compared to the left..but still hitting 14 and3/4 inch round


today I started with the bench press

warm up sets with 10ks
before hitting 3x4 reps of 50k for a new pb wow

then I did 5x5reps of 30ks

moved onto dumbbell presses and lateral raises

as Monday is usual cardio day for me..i hit the running machine for 15mins
15 mins on the rower and 20 mins on the punch bag
on a cut now for a few weeks to knock of some of the small amount I have added since may
im up tp 12stone 3lb this morning..will cut back to 11stone 9lb

im resting up my arm today...........as its still giving a bit of gip after work.....

so I only hit the road today for a 5k run around my local park...phew was it hot...I sweated bucket..good for my cut..good for my marathon training...but wreck my knees...!!!






bring on the marathon............how long can I rest my arm without loosing muscle....!!!

hi thanks..........I have no real eating plan....as I don't compete...I don't need to be 100% strict..

but I do aim to get at least 160grams of protein a day...and around 2200 cals to maintain...

I cut on 1800 ..and bulk out on 2500+

I work hard as I can in the gym

today I done a new pb on the leg extension machine 5x5 95kg(max on the machine)

bad day at the office...my strength seemed to desert me today..felt weak and tired....!!
so just did the running machine and the cross trainer

had a good session at saturday...so maybe...im still feeling the effects...il eat some extra carbs today...and il hit the bench again tomorrow..!!
