Great lifting mate, 25 is awesome. However, and not because I'm in the running for the shoulder press, but I think need to come lower and go higher. Meant to be clavicle to lockout, I believe.

Awesome lifting though, it'll just take a decision from Jon as to whether they're allowed. You'll be bang on for the 80 at that rate too mate.

Thanks Monbeef  Smiley

However I did lock out on every repetition, you can see my elbows pop at the top of the movement. Additionally, I always go through a full range of motion -  I guess that comes with being a bodybuilder  Grin

In relation to lowering the bar to clavicle height, I take a narrower grip and lower the bar until tension leaves the shoulder. I find this to be just at the base of the neck.

If I adopted a wider grip I feel that this would utilise too much of the upper chest muscle.

In addition, I feel that Simon Stevens lowered the bar to the same level as myself in his attempt.

Thanks.

Fair enough mate if Si did. They were good solid reps anyway, perfect for building delts like you said! I don't go quite as far down on my military presses either, I only did for this. I did mine to about my chin and got told to re do it. Reps were the same in the end. I've tried it a few tines and maxed out at 18. 25 is well out of my league at present.

Nice attempt Dave, but for inclusion on the leaderboard I'm afraid they need to be lower.  Sad

Bar should touch clavicles at the bottom of the movement. It does say this on the rules thread.

Point taken regarding Simon's entry and I've removed it.

Please come back and have another go though. You're not the first to have a 'no lift' and wont be the last.  Wink

See now I feel like a grass. Sorry, man, I didn't mean it like that. Getting 25 like that you're sure to top 20 anyway.

I had to do mine twice. I've seen many get a no lift on squats.

When I filmed my first squat attempt I watched it back and realised it wasn't low enough either, so never included it on the leaderboard.

However since then I retrained myself with lighter weights to go much deeper. I actually enjoy squats more now becuase I can use less weight to exhaust my legs without putting my back out.

That's exactly the reason why I do overhead squats. Leg failure at 10 with 60kg and the option to drop it to your traps and go on further.
