Here is my 100kg Push Press attempt.

I did it immediately after my 80kg strict press attempt so my triceps were burnt out! Hence it looks like I had some steam left at the end but I didnt!

not going to count on the board as didn't show plates - also more of a jerk than push press but don't care 100kg went overhead Smiley

well its not quite what I want (would like a stricter push press at that weight)

set myself a goal of 120kg jerk for a 1.5 x bodyweight over head

What do you weigh at the moment then? Only joking... Lol.

That'll be good mate. 120 feels mega heavy as you take it off. Especially at 80kg. I did a 120 push press but have only ever done a 115 split jerk.

Blimey, 1.5 would see me attempting 153kg! And would end in death or paralysis!

Just reviewing the above, how are the 100kg club progressing now?

I've still never got more than 5 and at the moment can't get over 3, but am working on increasing my 120kg 1RM PB and have done 112.5kg so far.

Seeing yours Glen and that unbelievable 160kg, I may try taking my split jerk up. I've done 115kg a few years ago.

That 160kg is amazing. I think the main point is that it looks effortless holding it on his clavicles. We all know it doesn't feel light on there at 100kg. But that's twice his bodyweight! I sometimes think I hold it too long and get tired.

Anyway, how are yours going?

its weird - technique and speed at lower weights is flying - to the point that 70kg flys off my shoulders to lockout so fast. havent been able to match the 100kg since Sad

going to focus on my strict press for a while

What is your strict press?

Vess does 105kg strict which is unbelievable and almost matches his push press. In fact if he was quicker with his push press he'd lift lots more as his triceps really grind through.

My best strict press standing is 90kg. I've done a lot more seated (11x100kg) but only from mouth to lock out, not from clavicles.
