I find traing the high rep power programs (juganought or Russian power)work best when doing both sports and doing evens day or adding evens as assistance  I'm consentrating on my powerlifting this year and but doing a few strongman comps for fun if they pop up and it's not going to effect my powerlifting

In the past I trained solely for strongman and as a byproduct became good at powerlifting( I stared as it was time off work when I was in the navy ) as a rule strongmen are good power lifters but it's hit and miss with power lifters doing strongman Andy Bolton struggled but Benny magnison held his own
